Q. What are your office hours?
A. Our office hours are 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and we typically close for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. We have flexible hours to accommodate our patients, so if you need to come in earlier or later than the posted hours, or over the noon hour, that is no problem. |
Q. Do you accept referrals?
A. We love referrals! We promise to give your referrals the same personalized attention that we give you. |
Q. Do you accept my insurance plan?
A. Our office accepts indemnity and PPO insurance. Our staff is glad to assist you with any insurance matters, including maximizing your benefits. |
Q. What different payment options do you provide?
A. We work hard to provide payment options to suit your individual needs. We accept cash, checks and all major credit cards, and we also offer an interest-free payment plan that we will be glad to discuss with you. |
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. We understand emergencies may arise that preclude you from keeping an appointment, but as our office strives to treat patients in a timely manner, we expect the courtesy to be returned. A 48-hour notification (business hours) must be given to avoid a cancellation fee. If you miss an appointment, you may also be subject to a broken appointment fee due to the inconvenience caused to the office and other patients. Please be sure to make an appointment that will be convenient for you, and give us plenty of notice if a conflict arises. |
Q. What do I do if I have an emergency outside of your regular hours?
A. If you experience a dental emergency outside of our regular office hours, please call (619) 234-5377 and follow the instructions to have Dr. Aghaloo paged. Please leave a message regarding the nature of the emergency and a phone number where you can be reached. Your call will be returned as soon as possible. |
Q. What can you do to help me relax during my appointments?
A. Your comfort is paramount to us; we know many people fear going to the dentist, and put off visits as a result. We offer sedation dentistry for patients who wish to sleep through procedures. If you’d prefer to watch a DVD during your treatment, we’ll pop in the selection of your choice and provide headphones. |
Q. What are my options if I want my teeth to look better without having to wear braces?
A. There are many options available to beautify your smile that have nothing to do with having metal in your mouth. Whitening, bonding, porcelain veneers, or straightening with Invisalign® can be used to achieve a more beautiful smile. As your personal smile trainer, Dr. Aghaloo will work with you to choose the option that is best for your specific situation. |
Q. Should I be concerned if my gums bleed when I brush and floss?
A. Yes. Bleeding is typically a sign of gum disease (also known as periodontal disease); healthy gums don’t bleed during routine dental hygiene. Gum disease starts as mild gingival inflammation and can progress to more advanced stages if not treated. Most gum disease can be prevented if diagnosed and treated early, but more advanced stages can often cause irreversible damage. Dr. Aghaloo suggests having your teeth and gums checked at least twice a year to prevent problems from gum disease. |
